=====================  Hazards Identification  =====================

Routes of Entry: Inhalation:YES  Skin:YES  Ingestion:YES
Reports of Carcinogenicity:NTP:NO    IARC:NO	OSHA:NO
Health Hazards Acute and Chronic:HYDROGEN CYANIDE IS VERY TOXIC &
    EXTREMELY FAST ACTING. BREATHING/SWALLOWING SMALL AMOUNT OF CYANIDE
    MAY BE FATAL. A FEW MINUTES OF EXPOSURE TO 300 PPM MAY RESULT IN
    DEATH. EXPOSURE TO 150 PPM FOR FRO M 0.5 TO 1 HOUR MAY ENDANGER
    LIFE. AVERAGE FATAL DOSE OF HYDROGEN CYANIDE IS 50-60MG. MAY BE
    ABSORBED.
Explanation of Carcinogenicity:NONE
Effects of Overexposure:EXPOSURE TO HYDROCYANIC ACID MAY CAUSE
    WEAKNESS, HEADACHE, CONFUSION, NAUSEA, VOMITING, INCREASED RATE OF
    RESPIRATION OR SLOW/GASPING RESPIRATION, EYE & SKIN IRRITATION.
    THIS IS FOLLOWED BY COLLAPSE, COMA, CONVULSIONS, & DEATH.

=======================  First Aid Measures  =======================

First Aid:EYES/SKIN: IMMEDIATELY FLUSH W/PLENTY OF WATER. REMOVE
    CONTAMINATED CLOTHING. INHALATION: REMOVE TO FRESH AIR. GIVE
    ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION. AVOID MOUTH-TO-MOUTH RESUSCITATION IF
    POSSIBLE. USE CYANIDE ANTIDOTE KIT. KEEP QUIET & MAINTAIN NORMAL
    BODY TEMPERATURE. EFFECTS MAY BE DELAYED; KEEP VICTIM UNDER
    OBSERVATION.

=====================  Fire Fighting Measures  =====================

Extinguishing Media:DRY CHEMICALS/SAND/EARTH. DON'T USE WATER/CO2. LET
    FIRE BURN ITSELF OUT. STAY UPWIND/OUT OF LOW AREAS. ISOLATE 200
    YARDS
Fire Fighting Procedures:MOVE INTACT CALCIUM CYANIDE CASE AWAY FROM
    FIRE SAFELY. ISOLATE AREA UNTIL GAS DISPERSED. WEAR POSITIVE
    PRESSURE SCBA W/SPECIAL CHEMICAL-PROOF SUITS.
Unusual Fire/Explosion Hazard:EXPLOSION HAZARD OF HYDROGEN CYANIDE IS
    SEVERE WHEN EXPOSED TO HEAT. CALCIUM CYANIDE WILL REACT W/WATER TO
    FORM EXPLOSIVE MIXTURES W/AIR.

==================  Accidental Release Measures  ==================

Spill Release Procedures:DOWNWIND UP TO 0.5 MILES/WIDTH OF 0.25 MILES.
    TAKE HYDROGEN CYANIDE GAS CONCENTRATION READING W/DETECTOR TUBE.
    STAY UPWIND/WEAR SCBA. DON'T USE WATER FOR 24 HRS. OVERPACK DAMAGED
    CONTAINER/SHOVEL/PLAC E IN GAS-TIGHT CONTAINER. REMOVE IGNITION
    SOURCES.

======================	Handling and Storage  ======================

Handling and Storage Precautions:STORE IN LOCKED/DRY/WELL-VENTILATED
    AREA AWAY FROM HEAT. POST AS PESTICIDE STORAGE AREA. DON'T STORE IN
    BUILDINGS INHABITED BY HUMANS/DOMESTIC ANIMAL.
Other Precautions:DON'T ALLOW WATER/OTHER LIQUIDS TO CONTACT PRODUCT.
    SEE EPA APPROVED LABELING FOR ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS/DIRECTIONS FOR
    USE. FOR RETAIL SALE & USE ONLY BY CERTIFIED APPLICATORS/PERSONS
    UNDER DIRECT SU PERVISION.

=============  Exposure Controls/Personal Protection  =============

Respiratory Protection:USE NIOSH/MSHA APPROVED SCBA OR COMBINATION
    AIR-SUPPLIED/SCBA RESPIRATOR FOR ENTRY INTO AFFECTED AREAS TO
    CORRECT PROBLEMS.
Ventilation:LOCAL: ADEQUATE TO REDUCE HYDROGEN CYANIDE LEVELS TO BELOW
    TLV.
Protective Gloves:RUBBER
Eye Protection:GLASSES/GOGGLES
Other Protective Equipment:FULL-FACE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION, PROTECTIVE
    CLOTHING
Supplemental Safety and Health
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: CYANIDE CAN BE RAPIDLY LETHAL BY BLOCKING OXYGEN
    UTILIZATION AT THE CELLULAR LEVEL, FORMING CYANMETHEMOGLOBIN FROM
    METHEMOGLOBIN. GIVE SODIUM NITRATE AS ANTIDOTE INTRAVENOUSLY FOLLO
    WED BY SODIUM THIOSULFATE. INHALE AMYL NITRITE PEARLS.
    OXYGEN/ARTIFICIAL RESPIRATION ARE SUPPORTIVE MEASURES.
